Kizomba in the Blues House?
Heck yeah!
The story:
In the last few months of 2025, a monthly Kizomba/Latin social popped onto the scene in Barre, and we were rightly heartbroken that it was the same night as the Blues House dance.
Because we were desperate to attend, we proposed a time shift, and Jacki and Ryan graciously moved their event to the following Friday so that neither community had to choose between the events.
And then, come that first night we could attend, Tally Bar in Barre was no longer able to host them (due to lack of fire sprinklers?)! So we immediately offered up the Blues House as an alternative, and they’ll be here this week!
Join us in welcoming Jacki and Ryan and the fantastic dance style of Kizomba into the house!
Kizomba hails from Angola, so shares deep African roots with Blues dance. It’s groovy and grounded and brimming with contra-body movement and glorious hip isolations and pairs perfectly with the Blues dancing we know and love.

Special for the Blues community, Jacki and Ryan are offering a beginner crash course, starting at 7:15pm. They’ll aim to quickly onboard us into this new style. If you’ve danced it before, it’s still cool to come, and you can help get the rest of us up to speed!
No partner or experience needed, all welcome, safer space.
!Please bring clean, non-marking, indoor shoes!
There will be a small assortment of snacks, and always feel welcome to add to the spread!
$5-10 suggested donation (to cover snacks and dance floor maintenance), Venmo welcome.
Plenty of street parking (please be considerate of the neighbors).
