Event: Friday Sept 19, 2025
As we shuffle our way into a new, chiller season, come channel that energy with us into a new, chiller way of dancin!
Please NOTE – we’re continuing with the new class schedule, with a beginner lesson at 7:45, and deeper concepts at 8:15! If you’re newer to Blues, please join us for the intro class (and then stick around to learn more), and if you’ve been around for a while, come to both, and help onboard our new dancers!
Tonight’s deeper concepts lesson, starting at 8:15, will introduce us to the Piedmont Triple, a relaxed but sharply rhythmic shuffle dance that developed in the Piedmont plateau in the 1920s alongside the finger-pickin guitar Blues of that region. The music itself may feel initially challenging, but this dance fits it perfecty!
Follow this link to see the Piedmont Triple idiom in action!
